these are a few of my favorite things// 06

+ quiet
+ getting things done
+ having awesome little brothers who are more than willing than to remove the flock? herd? pod? of lady bugs that have decided to infest my bedroom.
+ Happy daffodils  (they're my favorite flower. ;)
+ good conversations with good friends
+ it's almost spring, which means we might start seeing the sun! (!!!!!)
+ electricity and hot water. (our power was out last night, which always make me thankful for lamps and showers. ;)
+ coffee dates
+ Happy books, like "Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good," by Jan Karon and "My Life in France" by Julia Child.
+ "The Lord's loving kindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I have hope in Him." Lamentations 3:22-24
+ Ice cream!
+ Cuddling with Lydia when she's still sleepy and teaching her to give hugs.
+ "Greater is He living in me than he who is in the world." (Paraphrase of 1 John 4:4)
+ "Never miss a good chance to shut up." Will Rogers
+ Roots Run Deep by Jadon Lavik
+ baby bunnies. (so far my sister has had a couple doe's have babies in the past few weeks, and they are pretty darn cute.)
+ watching master and commander with my little brother a couple days ago. (It's cool that he's old enough to really hang out with, but also, he's turning 18 this year!??)
+ the wind outside. (so it knocked the electricity out for a while, but I love it anyway. Makes me think of Goldendale.)
+ having fun with my sister while shopping. (she's a good one to take with you when you're not supposed to buy any more clothes. ;)
+ working on some piano pieces again. it's been far too long, but it's cool that my fingers and mind still remember how to take sheets of music and make music happen.

  1. I love that you always have a book that you just finished and (usually) have enjoyed. And about the shopping - totally love sisters. ;)

    1. I do read a lot... ;) I know right, Sisters are awesome!

  2. Cute bunny!! Nice sunset pic Becca!
Have you read the Lost Clue? Its a Lamplighter and I really liked it!
Need to find more time to read again, seems the older I get the less time I have to do things! :/ ;)

    1. I haven't read that, but I'll look into it. (We actually just started buying some lamplighter books and I've really enjoyed them. I'll have to email you the titles!) I hear you on the time issue. I have kind of decided that I am going to read a lot right now while I do have the time, because I know that's gonna change. :)

  3. I love daffodils! They happen to be my favorite flower as well. The bunny is so cute.
As you and Tiffany are discussing Lamplighter books, I would recommend A Lost Pearle.

    1. I read A Lost Pearle at the beginning of the year, and I have to agree, it was really good! :)

    2. Ooo, I really liked A Lost Pearle too!
(lovely pictures by the way Becca!) :)

    3. Hey Megs, Have you girls read Ishmael and Self-Raised by E.D.E.N Southworth? They've been my favorite Lamplighters yet! And thank you. ;)

    4. Haven't read them yet, but plan too. I've heard from quite a few people who say those are some of the best Lamplighter books. So, now I really curious... ;)

    5. I liked the Lost Pearle too!
A few others I liked were Titus, Comrade of the Cross.
Buried in the Snow, and a Basket of Flowers.
One of my favorites is Sir Malcolm & the Missing Prince.
Heard that one first as an audio and then mom gave me the book. :)
You should get some of the audio drama's they do, very good!
They are all great books and I've liked everyone I've read so far!

  4. These pictures are beautiful and the last one of the baby bunny is absolutely precious.

Roots Run Deep by Jadin Lavik. So much yes. I discovered this album a couple years ago and before then I had never heard his music. Have you listened much to Fernando Ortega's music? If you enjoy Jadin Lavik, you will definitely like Fernando Ortega. :)

Also...I tagged in you my "Happy Tag" post today! I don't know if you have already done this tag already. If so, just ignore. ;)

  5. Hi Becca,
I liked learning more about you. :) That baby bunny is just so cute!!! It reminds me of the baby bunnies we used to have. I miss them. :)

I read and appreciate every comment. :)
