finally got a picture of...

...me!!!! I'm always on the other side of the camera!!! (Except that one time I did self-portraits!)

So, I had my brother take a picture of me, as it would have been really hard to take a good one of myself, and I was supposed to take pictures of everyone in the family for a gift for someone. anyway, it turned out ok! :)

cookies

I decided to bake peanut butter cookies yesterday. I love cookies, and do enjoy baking them, when I'm in the mood. Yesterday, I was in the mood. The only problem was that we have had too much sugar lately, and mom wasn't about to let me eat the cookies!! Long story short, I decided to bake them, and then freeze them, you know, for an emergency. So, I made cookies yesterday, and have to confess that I ate like 6 before I froze them!!! lol

Anyway, here is a photo that I took, my first food photography efforts, and it was kinda fun!! :)

a cool fall walk in the backyard

This is my crazy dog, as she is chasing something. She is just as much of a Country gal as I am, maybe more, she actually likes the snakes and squirrels and bugs. :)

Mom couldn't believe I am posting this. I love shooting clays. (except when there's people watching!!!! J)

i love being a big sister

I love being a big sister.

I love love love love love being a big sister. It is absolutely amazing being able to tell your little sister how excited you felt the day she was born, and being able to tell your little brother what that you liked to do exactly what he is doing, when you were little.

It is so fun to rescue your little brother from a tree, as he is about to fall out of it, and then hold his hand, because he won’t walk unless you do (!!) all the way to the house.

Today my two-year-old brother came out of the girls’ room, where my 6-year-old sister had just dressed him up in a cute little dress. He was walking out the door, through the kitchen, where I was peeling some vegetables, and he was saying to himself, “I am a girl.” I took one look at him and realized that the poor thing was having an identity crisis. I pulled the dress off over his head, and explained, trying to make it at a 2-year-old level. “No, you’re a boy, not a girl. Boys wear pants and boyish shirts, not dresses. Now go outside and play with some toy guns or swords.” And with that, sent him outside. J It is rather funny, seeing as though I used to dress my brothers up in dresses and myself in boys cowboy clothing. We actually have pictures of my older brother and I and all the little ones, (or as many were born at the time! J) dressed as the opposite gender. Now, I’m trying to stop my little sisters from doing the same. Funny how your perspective changes as you grow up!! J

Caleb (the two-year-old)

I love watching little kids play, and stopping their little fights and arguments, and holding their hands, and tickling their necks, smothering them with kisses, and reading them stories.

I just love being a big sister!!!!! J

A movie everyone should watch!!!

We saw a movie at a local church last night, and I loved it SO much that I decided to suggest it here!!

The Grace Card

Here's the trailer, it is rated PG13 because of some Police violence, and I would not suggest having children watch it because they won't understand it and will have all kinds of questions about subjects that are probably 'old' for them.

you just gotta laugh

You just have to laugh when you hear about people coming from different countries, with different customs, and different 'sayings' and you hear that they are totally confused about the things we say without thinking, and understand exactly what our friends mean when they say things like, "walkin' on eggshells," and other metaphors like that. This is a video that my brother showed me the other day, and I absolutely loved it; we've been laughing about it since watching it, and my brother can quote the whole thing complete with the accent!! :)

Thanks to this guy, we had our days’ worth of laughing when we watched this!! :)

It's October and I'm doing WHAT?!?!

I have officially started listening to Christmas music today. I know that Christmas is officially a long time away, but for the first time EVER, I am like really excited for Christmas this year. My #1 reason is that my oldest brother is coming home. (If all goes according to plans!) My #2 reason is that well, I just absolutely love red and greens together, I love the lights the wreaths, the secrets, the music, the food *smiles*, the snow, the fires....

I just love Christmas!!!!!

Can't we just have it like once a month?!?!?

You'll never guess where I just was!!!

I just got back from going to a Victorian Masquerade Ball with our really (really really really,) good friends the Fitzwater family!!!!! (who we have known for like 10 years now.) It was SOOO fun!

We did the Virginia Reel, Grand March, Waltzing, and others. My older brother, Andrew, was sure that he was going to hate it and didn't even want to go, but by the end of the night he was having as much fun as I was and I absolutely LOVE to dance! :)

We also spent the night to have a bit more time with them!!!! And Sierra and I managed to make it into bed pretty early; 2:00 A.M… J we usually are up until at least 3:00 or 4:00. J

Do you remember the dancing from this movie, it was like this only a little more bouncy and not so polite and quiet. :)

Thanks For having us guys!!!!!!

First Fire...

Yesterday, we had the first fire of the year. That officially tells me that it is now officially fall, and I can justify wearing boots, drinking hot coffees, and wearing long-sleeved shirts. I can drink my peppermint tea in peace, knowing that it is the right season to do so…. Have I mentioned how much I love fall?!?!?

I love.

I love Fall.

I love raindrops on my face.

I love coffee.

I love babies.

I love.... Ok, so I'll spare you of more. :)

Sundays, swings....

Most sundays at my house are, well, kind of boring. After church we come home, and as we are only allowed to read christian books, no fiction novels or the like, and I've read all the Christian books, I never really know what to do with my self.

Today we had a little twist, there was a picnic after church, at a huge park. The boys played football, the kids played soccor, the moms and dads talked, the other girls played badmitton, and I took some pictures and wandered around from group to group. :)

A few minutes before we left, the boys Andrew and his freind Jarad. I had told Sarah, Jarad's younger sister, that I would let my brother push me on the swing if she let hers. I know it sounds kinda silly, but it had something to do with our conversation, and it was NOT just out of the blue. Anyway, she went and told her brother what I said, and the boys were totally for it. So. I ended up getting 'swung' by my older brother today, and I haven't been on a swing set for several years. Now, you have to understand something. I really am scared of heights. They apsolutly terrify me, so swinging was not really that awesome. But I had to, cause I said I would. I ended up making the most terribly holarious faces, screaming, and attempting to kick my brother while he was pushing me. It's not that I am natrually violent, but I was SCARED, 'cause he wouldn't he wouldn't STOP. :)

But enough of that. After they pushed us for a bit, we pushed them, and then they started to do flips off the swings.

I think these would make a fun collage. Please notice the boy's faces in the third picture. The look like it took so much effort. :) It was really fun to watch them do it together Maybe I should try it sometime... and then again, maybe not. :)

Have a wonderful rest of the Sunday people!!
