march comes in like a lion what else // tis the first day of spring

“Spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.”

― Charles Dickens
Its the first day of spring, and I am simply thrilled. I am ready for the warm weather and flip-flops and all that lovely sunshine to soak in. What are you looking forward to most this spring?! :)

And just to make you smile, here a photo of a drawing Luke (6) drew on the draw-erase board this
morning. :)  He is so cute!!

words come and go like the tide

inspire. create. love. aspire. bold. wanderlust. blue. travel. music. hope.

                   I love words.
I love the way they sound, and roll off my tongue. (Which means I love to talk! J). I love how they look when they’re arranged in a beautiful sentence. I guess that’s why I write.  I love words; I just have to use them, and thus I attempt to write. Some days writing is so fulfilling. Ideas, sentences and words form themselves in my brain and flow into my fingertips beautifully, making me happy and content. Other days, the words seem to fly away to other places, other skies and other people, and I just can’t write. Those days, writing is frustrating and difficult, and all I want to do is scream and maybe cry.

I live for the days when the words come and flow out of my fingertips. And I push through the days the words insist on playing tag and evade my thoughts and fingers like little children playing hide-and-go-seek.
I love words. So I shall name myself a stalker of beautiful words, a vicious reader, and perhaps even a writer.

for the love of lists // what I love today

sounds i love:

water lapping against the shoreline of a lake
rain pelting the windows and roof
horses nickering to each other
baby chuckles and sweet nonsense
wind soaring through the treetops
perfect silence

After a small snowstorm several days ago, I caught the water drops falling from the roof. :)

smells i love:
freshly brewed coffee
newborn baby skin
lemon poppy-seed cake
dark chocolate
after it rains
the ocean

After said snowstorm, I found this heart print in the snow. I love finding hearts in strange places!

places i would love to visit in the next 10 years:
paris
england
italy
d.c.
the grand canyon
the moon (hey, it's just wishful thinking)
egypt
ireland
scottland
and many other amazing spots on this world.

things i miss right now:
bright sunny days
rain (I know, an oxymoron, but that's how I roll.)
my big brothers
the ocean

stuff I need to do today:
actually make a breakfast and eat it, instead of just grabbing something little and snacking all morning.
work on some of my pieces on the piano
read chapter's 2-3 of my drivers ed book
clean an apartment
drivers ed class
write 100 words for the challenge

favorite quotes right now:
"Be a voice. not an echo."
"I believe in kindness. also in mischief. Mary Oliver."
"if you think reading is boring, you're doing it wrong."
"I am the Lord, i change not. Malachi 3:6"

In which I cannot think of a title {2}

He climbed in the toy box the other day to get a toy he couldn't reach, and sat in there awhile mesmerized by a little handheld toy. :)
I had the opportunity to take some photos of a good friend of mine the other day, and besides being a little awkward, it was rather fun.
She wanted a photo of these red boots, ^ for her Facebook wall, and this is what we came up with. I happen to think it's adorable. :)

When I ask him to smile, this is normally what I get. :)

My dear freind, Hannah Elise was visiting a few weeks ago, so we went out for a quick photo shoot for her blog. The lighting wasn't terribly amazing, but they turned out pretty well.

I was quite amused that my shadow appeared so tall. :) Because I am easily amused.

Today has been a gray day, the sun is hiding it's face above a blanket of gray clouds. Wouldn't it be fun to go flying on a gray day like this, and break through the clouds into the sunshine? I've done it before, but it is just so amazing. There is something strange about it, but it is quite fun nevertheless.
It even snowed a bit today, and I thought it was officially spring.
So, you can tell when I am uninspired, (although I am learning that there is never really such a thing as being inspired. Well, there is, but there isn't. That's clear as mud, yes? :) when I talk about the weather...  :)

     How was your weekend? :)
