macro... :)

My grandfather loaned me a Macro lens for a while. He gave it to me on a “I’ll ask for it back sometime” basis, and so in the meantime, I get to do macro photography. I don’t have a clue how to use it, so I get to make all kinds of mistakes before I get it somewhat figured out, but I had fun taking it out in a little sprinkle of rain today. I LOVE WATER DROPS!!!!

And this year I tried to take some photos of bokah. They didn’t turn out at all, but I thought you might enjoy seeing my attempts!! J

And these are the girls I go to church with. :) (The baby's in there 'casue she needed babysitting!! :)

Tell me about your holiday season in a comment!!!! J

'Twas the night before Christmas...

Dear Friends,
I can hardly believe that Christmas is really tomorrow. I still think that  this year has gone way to fast, but I have had so many fun things happen, and it was an awesome year.

Now, I’m so happy. Both my brothers are home for today and tomorrow,  (Thomas will be here a little longer.) I’m drinking eggnog, (delicious!) and got some pretty bokah today.  So happy!! J

Here’s wishing you a merry Christmas, and I hope your celebration is happy, very happy. God bless you friend!!
In Christ

P.S I got to go skiing on Wendsday! more about that later. :)

frozen fog, and black 'n' white days

Yesterday (and today!) morning, I woke up to find my world white. But no, it wasn’t the exciting certain powdery white stuff I am anxiously awaiting, no, it was frozen fog, and there was plenty of regular unfrozen stuff too. It was one of those days which I call, black and white days. Their days that really have no color in them, and I always seem to dress in dark colors to match. Yesterday was no different and I was in Black and Navy. J

I did go out and take some photos, and some turned out pretty!! J

The frost was especially special, because it was kinda like God was telling me, “I will always give you something to smile about, something beautiful, even when you’re lonely and hurting.”  My brother Andrew moved out on Friday. There is a lot involved, but my parents asked him to leave. This is pretty hard for me, but I know God has a plan for everything, “good” or “bad” that happens in our lives.
Your prayers for my family would be WONDERFUL!!

On a happier note, only three days to go, and Thomas will be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wishing for castles...

I do know that I am totally random, trust me!! It’s one of my “things,” I guess. I always have been, always will be, and couldn’t stop it if I tried. J

preperations for skiing

This was an email I was sent a couple days ago, and I laughed so much!! I ski, or attempt to, and I guess some of these things would be ‘helpful’ *laughs*

Anyway, enjoy…

Well, as we're all waiting for the snow to come and stick, here's some tips on how to prepare for that grand day!

1. Soak your gloves and store them in the freezer after every use.

2. Attach a lift ticket to your coat, and ride a motorcycle fast enough to cause facial lacerations.

3. If you wear glasses, start wearing them with glue smeared all over the lenses.

4. Secure one leg to your bedpost and ask a friend to run into you at a high speed.

5. Put on all the clothes you can, and then proceed to undress because you have to use the rest room.

6. Buy a new pair of gloves, and immediately throw one away.

7. Find the nearest ice rink and walk across the ice 20 times in your ski boots carrying two pairs of skis, accessory bag and poles. Pretend you are looking for your car. Sporadically drop things.

8. Place a small but angular pebble in your shoes, pack crushed ice around your foot, and secure your toes in a vice.

9. Throw away a $100 bill NOW.

10. Go to McDonald's, and insist on paying $8.50 for a hamburger. Make sure you stand in the longest line.

11. Get in your car, and drive slowly, anywhere, as long as it's in a blizzard, and you are following an 18 wheeler.

12. Fill a blender with ice, hit the pulse button and let the spray blast your face. Leave the ice on your face until it melts. Let it drip into your clothes.

13. Fasten a small, wide rubber band around the top half of your head before you go to bed each night.

14. Slam your thumb in a car door. Don't go see a doctor.

15. Repeat all of the above every Saturday and Sunday until it's time for the real thing.

On stars, Theology, tents, and Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson went on a camping trip.
After a good meal and a bottle of wine, they lay down for the night and went to sleep.
Some hours later, Holmes awoke and nudged his faithful friend. "Watson, look up and tell me what you see."
Watson replied, "I see millions and millions of stars."
"What does that tell you?"
Watson pondered for a minute. "Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful and that we are small and insignificant in comparison. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Why, what does it tell YOU?"
Holmes was silent for a minute, then spoke.
"Watson, you fool. Some knucklehead has stolen our tent!!"

<3 have a wonderful day!! <3

seven long days...

My brother will be home in just seven days, but it feels like years. It's been exactly 100 day's since I've seen him, but it feels like eternity. I miss him so much, yet I couldn't be prouder of my big bro!!! He is there, so I don't have to. He's there to protect me, and thousands and thousands of other people, to protect their freedoms, rights, and lives. He's there to protect innocent people who can't protect themselves, and sometimes to protect people from themselves.

I know I talk about movies way to often. I really do know that, honest!! But I just have to tell you about my two favorite animated movies and if you haven’t seen them, I would suggest, as long as their ok with your family, that you do watch them!! J
P. S. They're in no praticular order!! :)

#1 How To Train Your Dragon
This is an amazing animated movie. It’s intense, amazing how intense it is, it has it’s funny parts, but mostly I was just to absolutely in love with Toothless and his beautiful eyes, and his dog like actions!! J

# 2 Tangled

Awww!!!!!!!!! that's all I can say!! :)

jewelry + photorgaphy = lots of fun

The other day I decided to experiment with jewelry photography, of my favorite rings and earrings. I liked what I came up with, and had a lot of fun in the process!! :)
This is my purity ring. ^ It is a symbol that I am committed to purity, saving myself for my ‘knight’ (I affectionately nickname my ‘Knight in Shining Armor,’ “Knight.” ;)
This ^ is my awesome “pinkie” ring. I don’t know why, but I love wearing rings on my pinkies, and I wear this one all the time!! (Like all the time, I feel funny if I don’t have it on! J)

These ^ adorable earrings were a gift from my Grandmother.

And these ^ cute black hills gold earrings have a story behind them!! My Uncle gave them to me eight long Christmas’ ago, and I was not allowed to pierce my ears until last Christmas, I was so happy to finally wear them!!
I bought these ^ at Koals on Black Friday.
And these. ^ I love Koals. These earrings are so totally me; I love sparkly jewelry, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE music, so… J

And lip gloss…….. I won’t even go there. J

What have you been photographing lately?
P.S. My mom gave me mascara for my birthday this morning!!! It is so nice to finally be allowed to wear it!! I now LOVE my lashes! J

P.P.S. only 11 days until Thomas gets home!!!!!!!!

I am so totally excited... It's December 2nd!!!!! That means that in tomorrow I'm gonna put up the Christmas decorations, and I can listen to Christmas music without my family telling me that it's to early. I can go shopping and buy to much, and blame it on "Christmas Shopping!" This is the best season of the year!

In just a little while, I can go skiing!! (just in case you don't know already, I love to ski! :) )

and someday I'm gonna take my own picture of a snowflake.

I am in love with this season, how 'bout you?
