fall // a list

A hot cup of tea and book in a fireplace. by Eduard Bonnin - photography inside the cafe: A hot cup of tea and book in a fireplace. by Eduard Bonnin - photography inside the cafe

things i am excited about this fall:

+ lots of tea and coffee (it's not like i didn't drink those in the summer, but being able to drink them without dying of overheating would be cool. :)

+ sweaters, scarves, and boots

+ pies

+ stunning leaves and colors

+ falling asleep to the sound of rain

+ fires crackling in the stove in the evenings

+ my girls bible study at church starting again

+ listening to Christmas music (it's my favorite, okay! Yes I do start listening to it full time in October, and yes, I am listening to Michael Buble's christmas album as I type...)

+ Pan (Fairy tales are my favorite, too, and I am pretty excited to go see this one with my favorite sister in law!)

+ road tripping to the beach with my bestie

+ getting to know new friends better

+ family camp with my church starting tomorrow.

+ reading many books and lots of the Bible

what are some things you're excited about now that it's September?

autumn is a second spring // where every leaf is a flower - albert camus

this summer went by so fast, despite that it has been the "quietest" summer I can remember. we didn't have much going on, so I read. 42 books exactly since June 1st. I decided at the beginning of the year that this would be a year of much reading, because I have the time. I don't have a job currently, or college classes claiming all my time, so I set a relatively high goal for myself of 150 books. I just finished my 104th book late last night, and am 70% done with my challenge.

I went on a road trip with some of my favoritest people on earth, (including this AMAZING person, she's in the gorgeous blue dress. ;)) and we got to play on the beach a little, and spend a lot of time being girls. :)

my brother trapped his second American Kestrel Falcon, (he is currently an apprentice falconer.) This is Odin, and his is gorgeous, fun to watch, and also insanely adorable when he puffs all his feathers out so that he looks like a super fat little robin. Kestrels are the smallest falcons in the US, and Odin is pretty tiny. Don't let that fool you, he is still perfectly capable of hunting and holding his own.

I'm looking forward to fall, with the beautiful colors, {hopefully} the crisp, gorgeous days, dressing in boots, sweaters and scarves, and drinking many cozy warm drinks. This fall will bring lots and lots of school, (this is my senior year,) and maybe a job, and lots more changes. I think this is the year of change for me.

this is a super rambly post, but ya know, i'm kind of a super rambly person, so it works. :) so let's talk.. how was your summer? Any special memories or experiences? :)

f a l l // in the b a r n y a r d

this is quack-quack junior. and she is simply adorable; we let her free-range and she just wanders around eating bugs constantly.

Reading: Persuasion - Jane Austen; Through Gates of Splendor - Elisabeth Elliot.
Listening: this; this; and this;
Drinking: Gallons and gallons of tea and not quite so much coffee. :) Mostly Moroccan Mint Green Tea.
Loving: Fall colors; drinking outrages amounts of tea whilst reading amazing books; rainymood.com; my littlest brother's adorableness.
Dreaming: Of travel; cities I want to see and explore.
Anticipating: The arrival of the skirt I ordered for my brother's wedding; Said brother's reaction to the package I just sent him. :) Being able to listen to Christmas music without driving my family nuts;
craving: pumpkin spice latte; candy-canes; chocolate (i just need to run to the store.); vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce.

how 'bout you?

in which i cannot think of a title

I love random posts. Where you just mention everything that you’ve thought of during the last few weeks, but didn’t take the time then to do a post.
So that’s what this post is. Photos and words I really meant to say but never got around to.  Besides, it’s nice to have posts available occasionally, that don’t require tons of planning. It’s makes blogging just that much funner. (Funner. Apparently, according to Microsoft Word, that is not a word. But I’m a homeschooler, and homeschoolers make up words when they can’t find the perfect one. :)
First of all, I’d like to introduce a new blogger. One of my good friends just started a book review blog, (after debating about it for a while.) So take a few minutes to check out Hannah’s blog. J

This ^ is my life lately. tea and music; two of the very best things on earth.

Julia, and her sweet smile. See those teeth missing? I love toothless grins. :)

mom had to be somewhere during school time one day last week, so i brought all my essential schoolwork out into the dining room, in order to help all my siblings with theirs, and maybe do a little myself. I was amazed at how much I thought was essential!

This is not a photo of the lawn, I promise. This is the field, between the horse pen and the lawn. Isn't it pretty?! Amazing how much green grass can excite this country girlie.
Just as the sun was setting a few nights ago. Everything was cloudy, except the strip on the western horizon.

Mom and I found this video last week, during one of our late night youtube experiences. J I laughed hysterically the first time I watched it. So watch it and laugh, people. Gotta wonder what these guy's girls were thinking as they watched their husbands/boyfreinds preform.
And, I’m sure you noticed the new bog design. Isn’t it beautiful! Britt from, Encouragement for Everyday Struggles, designed it for me, and I am in love with it. I was considering having her do it, but just wasn’t sure about asking her, and I finally went to my mom and asked her what she thought about me contacting Britt. Mom’s response was “do it, your blog is SOO boring." :) Anyway, I did, and am so glad I did. Check out her blog and be blessed.

And, I have several posts coming up, so hopefully no more long invervels between posts for a little while. :)

Do me a favor and go eat some chocolate, 'kay. There's none in the house, and it's about to drive me crazy. So be sure to comment about how wonderful it is, and what kind it happens to be. :)

a cool fall walk in the backyard

This is my crazy dog, as she is chasing something. She is just as much of a Country gal as I am, maybe more, she actually likes the snakes and squirrels and bugs. :)

Mom couldn't believe I am posting this. I love shooting clays. (except when there's people watching!!!! J)
